"Pachanga" is a slang word from Spanish
that means "a party, or a bash". The First Pachanga
was a dinner fundraiser with a talent show to
benefit the Marfa Theatre. From then on, the actual talent show became known
as the "Pachanga".

An array of local talent participates in the show,
making it the most attended event in the year.
From folklorical dancers to jazz pianists
the community displays the diversity
of talent. This event gives the
aspiring actor, singer or dancer an opportunity
to perform in professional theater with
a live audience.

The judges are local citizens. Awards are
given for first, second and third place,
but all participants are winners.
